Easter is a Season
It can come as a bit of a shock, that even after Easter Sunday we continue to begin each worship service with:
Jesus Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!
It’s a helpful reminder that Easter isn’t a day, but a season in our church year (and our lives) that remembers the promise of the resurrection. During the season of Easter here at Minneola, we are going to lean further into the traditional liturgy and trappings of our faith. It is a season to honor the power of the resurrection transforming lives for over 2000 years and through these traditions and symbols of faith, we recognize and honor all those who have come before us and all those who will come after.
So, this Easter season you will see me in a robe & stole each Sunday and preaching from the pulpit. This Easter season we will join in the sung liturgy of the kyrie, hymn of praise, great thanksgiving, lamb of God, and more. This Easter season we will revel in the traditions of our church that have been shared among saints throughout time and space. This Easter season we step into the depth of our tradition to share the transformational power of Christ’s church in the here and now.
Worship is going to look and feel a bit different for this season which ends on Sunday May 25th as we celebrate Pentecost and our worship time moves to 9:00am. I pray we are all able to experience the work of the Holy Spirit in the people and place of Minneola more viscerally and be once again transformed by the power of Christ’s resurrection this Easter season for:
Jesus Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!
