Campaign for Kindness – Summer 2025

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.   -Ephesians 4:32

In a world shifting under our feet and a news outlets telling us constantly about all the hurt, pain and heartbreak occurring around the globe, sometimes it does our hearts, souls and bodies good to dwell in the realm of kindness and how God calls us daily to let the kind, forgiving, love of God be the impulse that stirs and empowers us through this life.

The Campaign for Kindness lectionary was created and distributed by the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod in late 2024, but it is never the wrong time to dive into the topic of kindness through our scriptural, theological and experiential lens. This summer’s preaching and worship from June till August, while we are at Minneola, will consist of the following topics and Gospel texts:

  • Kind not Nice (Luke 10:25-37)

  • Humility in Kindness (Luke 18:9-14)

  • Kindness in the Midst of Anxiety (Matthew 25:14-30)

  • Culture of Kindness (Luke 15:1-10)

  • Kindness in the Aftermath (Luke 15:11-32)

  • Ambassadors of Kindness (Matthew 13:31-33, 44-53)

Whether you are able to join us through out the summer or not, I encourage you to take some time and read these Gospel readings, alone or with your family. Consider the ways Christ shows up and what they tell us about who God is and who we might be called to be in this world.

May our lives reflect Jesus’ way,
Pr. Hannah
